A fast drying single pack general purpose primer. For application to Timber above and below the waterline prior to the application of undercoat or antifouling. Also for use as a primer on Polyester, Vinylester, Epoxy, Steel and Aluminum above the waterline only, prior to the application of a single pack undercoat.

Preparation:
Note: Not suitable for permanently immersed surfaces. Do not overcoat with two-component solvent-based products.
| WOOD: |
Ensure bare wood is clean and dry. Apply UPC or alternatively one coat of Yacht Primer thinned 10-15% with thinners no.1 to ensure penetration and adhesion. |
| OILY WOODS eg TEAK: |
Wash thinners no.1, allow to dry. Thin first coat of Yacht Primer 15-20% prior to application |
| STEEL: |
Grit blast to Sa 2½ to 3. An angle grinder can be used in small areas. |
| ALUMINIUM: |
Clean and degrease with Yacht Line Super Cleaner. For better adhesion, mechanically abrade with aluminium oxide. Pre-prime with Etch Primer. |
| ZINC/ GALVANISED STEEL: |
Degrease with Yacht Line Super Cleaner. Pre-prime with Etch Primer |
Application:
- If any filling required use the appropriate product from the Interfill range, after the first coat of Yacht Primer has been applied.
- Ensure all dust is removed with a dust wipe before painting, and stir the paint thoroughly.
- Apply 4 coats.
- Stir well before use.
- If maximum overcoating time is exceeded sand using 180 grade paper.
